F. Scott Fitzgerald (September 24, 1896 – December 21, 1940) is considered one of the twentieth century's greatest American writers. He finished four novels (including The Great Gatsby) and various short stories, including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Useless but interesting fact: Few attended Fitzgerald's funeral, but one attendee Dorthy Parker (American writer and poet, best known for her wisecracks), quipped "the poor son of a bitch", which is a line from Jay Gatsby's funeral in Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.
