F. Scott Fitzgerald (September 24, 1896 – December 21, 1940) is considered one of the twentieth century's greatest American writers. He finished four novels (including The Great Gatsby) and various short stories, including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. And in case you've been living under a rock, it is also a brilliant and beautiful movie of 2008 starring Brad Pitt and directed by David Fincher (of Se7en and Fight Club fame).Read the inspirational short story here.
Useless but interesting fact: Few attended Fitzgerald's funeral, but one attendee Dorthy Parker (American writer and poet, best known for her wisecracks), quipped "the poor son of a bitch", which is a line from Jay Gatsby's funeral in Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.
